Privacy Policy
Updated April 13, 2026
At RallyCrew, we believe in protecting your privacy, plain and simple. We built this platform for paddlers, not advertisers. That means your personal information is never sold, never shared with marketers, and always treated with care.
This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe. It applies to all users of the RallyCrew platform, including our website and mobile app.
1. We Respect Your Privacy
We will never sell or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We only collect the information we need to provide RallyCrew’s services and improve your experience on the platform.
2. What We Collect
When you use RallyCrew, we may collect:
Personal Information (only what you choose to share):
Name, email address, profile photo, location
Comfort zone, certifications, watercraft, profile responses
Event details and posts you create
Technical Information (automatically collected):
Device type and operating system
Browser type
IP address
Usage data (e.g., which features are used most often)
Location information (such as approximate location or GPS data), if you choose to enable location-based features while using the platform
We use this data to operate, secure, and improve the RallyCrew platform.
3. Location Services
RallyCrew may use location information to support map-based features, such as showing nearby paddlers, rivers, events, and helping visualize Trip Logs and hazard locations.
Location sharing is optional and can be enabled or disabled at any time through your device settings.
RallyCrew does not track your real-time location in the background. Location is only used while you are actively using the app or features that rely on it.
We use this data to operate, secure, and improve the RallyCrew platform.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
Create and manage your account
Help paddlers find each other and connect
Power search filters, event listings, messaging, and group features
Improve the performance and reliability of the platform
Respond to support inquiries, review reported content or behavior, and enforce community standards
Comply with legal requirements
We may use aggregated, anonymized data to better understand how the community uses RallyCrew, but this data is never connected to your personal identity.
5. Messages and Communications
Messages on RallyCrew are intended to be private between participants. However, if a message is reported, we may review it as part of an investigation into potential violations of our Community Guidelines.
6. Who Can See What
Your Paddler Profile is public. You can control what information you share by being selective in the questions you answer. Any question you leave unanswered on your profile will not appear publicly.
Posts you share are visible only to your RallyCrew friends.
For Trips and Trip Logs, you have the option to share personal information—such as your name or the crew you went with—publicly, with friends only, or keep it private.
In all cases, certain non-personal information, including River Name, Section, Flow, Date, and Hazards, may be shared publicly to help provide important safety information to the broader RallyCrew community.
When you post or comment in Groups, on Business Listings, or in Event Discussions, visibility depends on the setting of that space. Some Groups may be private and visible only to members, while content shared on Business Listings and Event pages is generally public.
7. Blocking and Reporting
You can request to block another user or report content or behavior that violates RallyCrew’s Code of Conduct by emailing hello@rallycrew.com.
We review all reports and take appropriate action to help keep RallyCrew a safe and respectful space. In cases where community safety is at risk, we may review relevant data and take further action, including restricting access to the platform.
8. Underage Users
RallyCrew is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has registered, we will remove the account immediately. While RallyCrew is based in the United States, we recognize that age of digital consent may vary by country. By using RallyCrew, you confirm that you meet the age requirements of your local jurisdiction or have the proper consent to participate.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights under data privacy laws:
Access – You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correction – You can request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete information
Deletion – You can request that we delete your account and associated data
Objection – You can object to certain types of data processing
Portability – You can request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format
To make any of these requests, email us at hello@rallycrew.com.
10. Data Retention
We keep your personal information as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove or anonymize your personal data from our active systems within 30 days.
Some residual data may remain in secure backups for a limited period as required for legal, security, or operational purposes.
11. Data Security
We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information, including:
Encrypted data transmission
Secure authentication
Limited staff access to personal data
While no system is 100% secure, we’re committed to protecting your data and staying current with best practices.
12. International Users
RallyCrew is based in the United States, but we welcome paddlers from around the world. By using RallyCrew, you agree that your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. or other countries that may not have the same privacy laws as your own.
We comply with global privacy regulations and are committed to protecting your rights, no matter where you live.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the law or our services. If we make material changes, we’ll let you know through the app, by email, or other clear communication. Continued use of RallyCrew after a policy update means you agree to the new version.
