RallyCrew Is Hiring
RallyCrew is the online eddy where whitewater paddlers connect, plan trips, build skills, and find events. This all-in-one app is free to use and designed for every kind of boater—whether you paddle a kayak, raft, canoe, IK, SUP, or packraft. With RallyCrew, you can browse paddler profiles, create or join affinity groups, discover events around the world, and chat directly with other boaters and paddlesport providers. It is a modern, inclusive space that brings the whitewater community together in one place, finally making it easy to stay informed, make new connections, and get more time on the water.
We are currently hiring a Front-End Developer to help us grow in a way that is smart, sustainable, and deeply community-centered.
RallyCrew Front-End Developer
(Must Be a Boater)
RallyCrew is seeking a Front-End Developer who is also an active boater and regular RallyCrew user. RallyCrew is a web app today, with Apple and Android apps launching this spring.
You will work closely with the founder and in collaboration with RallyCrew’s development agency, which provides overall technical direction and architecture. This is a hands-on execution role that requires comfort working within a dotted-line reporting structure, balancing founder priorities with agency guidance to keep work moving smoothly.
This role is ideal for a front-end developer who enjoys being embedded in a product, contributing meaningfully to execution, and navigating collaborative environments with multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Development Support
Implement front-end updates including UI refinements, small feature improvements, and minor bug fixes
Make changes within an established codebase following agency guidance and standards
Support testing and QA before and after releases
Assist with troubleshooting issues and documenting resolutions
Product and Founder Collaboration
Work directly with the founder to identify priorities, usability issues, and opportunities for improvement
Provide practical input on feasibility and effort based on hands-on experience
Help translate product needs into well-defined development tasks
Agency Collaboration and Coordination
Work within technical direction provided by the development agency
Communicate clearly with agency developers to confirm scope, dependencies, and expectations
Navigate dotted-line reporting relationships with professionalism and clarity
Help ensure work remains aligned and well-coordinated across contributors
Organization and Delivery
Track bugs, improvements, and updates in a structured way
Help ensure tasks are clearly scoped and delivered in priority order
Flag blockers, risks, or dependencies early
Skills and Qualifications
Active boater or paddler who would naturally use RallyCrew in daily life
Front-end development experience in a production web app environment
Comfortable implementing changes in an existing codebase with shared ownership
Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with a founder + external agency
Organized and reliable: able to track tasks, follow through, and communicate blockers early
Interest in product thinking and user experience (but role is development-first)
Tech Stack (Nice to Have)
RallyCrew is built with a modern stack. Familiarity with some or all of the following is a plus:
Supabase and Postgres
Encore.ts with Google Cloud backend
Vite and TanStack frontend hosted on Vercel
TypeScript
Radix UI
Figma-based design handoff
Compensation and Benefits
This is a flexible, part-time, hourly role designed to fit alongside an active life on and off the water.
20 to 30 hours per week
Hourly compensation commensurate with experience
Fully remote and schedule-flexible
Consistent, ongoing work rather than one-off contracts
Meaningful product ownership in a tool you will actually use
Opportunity to help shape RallyCrew as it grows across web and mobile
